POLL-AS!

E3 has come and gone, and it seems like retro fever has spread through more than this website. Developers across the land are bringing back franchises that have disappeared, either vanishing without a trace or fading with a whimper since their prominent heydays, in hope of recapturing the glory and getting people like me to buy their games. I've selected what I feel are the five most appealing:

We have a great sidescrolling ninja game in Ninja Gaiden, which was also the first NES game to feature cinema scenes. We have another great sidescrolling ninja game called Shinobi, with a bit more depth. There's Contra, which is a shoot 'em up revered for its challenge and wacky power-ups. Rygar somehow combined multiple genres into a deep game where you used a giant spiked yo-yo as a weapon. And of course, Toejam & Earl, the funkiest exploration game on earth. The question is:

THE WINNER: Ninja Gaiden! I must say, I put some time into this series as a youth, but I would have been happy with any of the choices. Ah well, I guess this means I'll have to forgive the X-Box for stealing my colors.
