-Due to technical difficulties, I'm probably going to put off talking extensively about my newest game until later this week or next weekend. Luckily, there's actually some gaming stuff to talk about for a change.
-First, however, some in-house notes. Progress is slowly but surely being made on the new CD-I review. I'm currently in the tedious "playing through, jotting down, taking pictures" phase. This is the toughest part; you have to understand just how bad this game is. The main character walks veerrry sllooowwly, and 95% of the game is walking up to people, talking, and finding new people to walk up and talk to. And wait till you see some of these people. Yikes. Don't worry, twitch gamers, there's still some exciting violence and debauchery to be found, minus the exciting. There's even something for the NewsRadio fans, as you'll see more than your fair share of space prostitutes.
Oh yeah, I changed the font on the main page to make it easier to read. You'll still have to deal with the usual cavalcade of colors, however.
-My opinion on the Hot Coffee scandal is that I was tired of it last week. I tried voting against Hillary in 2000 and it got me nowhere. At least Joe Lieberman was a bit more pleasant to look at. I'm over 18 and I couldn't really care less about series' that sell on their "M" rating (except for Mortal Kombat, but there's no sexin' in that game, and all of the hookers are 10,000 years old and from Outworld), so until Congress actually does something besides bluster and cause panic for a week or two, it's not that big a deal to me. Rockstar will be fine, lessons wil be learned, fat 12 year olds will still be able to get their hands on Manhunt, life will go on.
-Many have endured the harrowing tale of how I signed up for that "free 5 issues" deal Gamepro did last year, and how they're still sending me their useless magazine to this day. I checked my statements, and I'm not paying for them, so whatever. On rare occasions, they do provide some useful new information in between giving 90% of the new games each month a 4 out of 5 rating, so click on the image for some new Zelda info. We know about the Princess, but how about the Twilight? Am I right? Details on a new Light/Dark world system that will probably make Link to the Past fans happy:

-Guilty Gear X2/XX was an amazing 2D fighting game, which is why it was somewhat disappointing when Sammy decided to make Isuka, a weird update with its convoluted 4-fighter setup and horrendous "Streets of Rage" mode. I'm not sold on the upcoming Dust Strikers (DS) or Judgment (PSP) either. That's why these Slash screenshots are a bit reassuring - it looks like Arc/Sammy (now Sega I guess, thanks to the merger) will be going the Capcom "Street Fighter" route, with minimal updates, new moves, and a new character or two. And really, isn't that the way to go? Hopefully it ends up on PS2 sooner than later. Hey, speaking of Capcom...
-That's right, last but certainly not least, just when you thought I'd go an entire update without mentioning Mega Man, I bring news of Mega Man Anniversary Collection ... the Game Boy one, long thought to have been quietly killed in the back room of a deserted Capcom studio. So, what's the story? Looks like there's even more Wily-like bumbling and fumbling going on than there was with the original Collection; someone lost the source codes, let's move it to the DS so we can charge a few extra bucks for it, and so on. Actually, that's smart, lazy and greedy. Fucking Capcom.
-NEXT TIME: The review I promised this time!
